This partnership fills a specific gap in our network: flexible study options for working professionals who cannot relocate to Malaysia full-time.
About AeU
Asia e University was founded in 2007 under the endorsement of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) — an intergovernmental initiative spanning multiple Asian nations. This origin gives AeU a distinctly regional mandate: expanding access to affordable, quality higher education across Asia.
AeU is officially recognised by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and all its academic programmes are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). AeU also serves as the main facilitator of the Asian Credit Transfer System (ACTS) — a framework enabling mutual credit recognition among participating Asian institutions.
Among Malaysia's three principal ODL providers, AeU is the most internationally oriented, with a learning-centre network and student base extending well beyond Malaysia.

AeU offers more than 50 programmes across eight schools, spanning foundation, diploma, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels:

The Pay-As-You-Study Fee Model
AeU operates a per-credit-hour fee structure rather than charging full programme fees upfront. Students pay course by course, which means enrolment can scale up or down each semester depending on workload, family commitments, and cash flow. For someone balancing a full-time job with study, this flexibility is often the deciding factor.
International student fees run on a separate schedule and are typically higher than the Malaysian domestic rate. Current fees and EMGS requirements should be confirmed directly during consultation.

An Important Note on Degree Recognition
If you plan to work in Indonesian government institutions, state-owned enterprises, or as a university lecturer, be aware that fully online programmes generally do not qualify for ijazah penyetaraan at Kemendikbudristek. The equivalency process requires bukti mukim — evidence of physical attendance at the campus. For private sector employment this is typically not an issue.
